Involved vehicles are marked “open” on the Investigate Vehicle History screen in GM Global Warranty Management system. This site should always be checked to confirm vehicle involvement prior to beginning any required inspections and/or repairs.

Condition	Certain 2015-2018 model year Cadillac ATS and CTS vehicles may have been built with an owner manual and label which provide inaccurate information about one of the vehicle’s electrical centers.
Correction	Remove and install the replacement electrical center fuse identification label. Print the applicable replacement owner manual section and insert into vehicle owner manual.

Important: For customer owned vehicles, labels are being sent directly to owners. Only order labels for vehicles in inventory. There should be no need to order labels for shelf stock in anticipation of customer vehicles being presented for repair.

USA

Parts required to complete this recall are to be ordered online, through the GM 1Store via GlobalConnect. Please log in and order the appropriate item number label(s) using the chart above. The label will be provided at no charge. Do not order labels from GMCCA.

Canada

Parts required to complete this recall are to be obtained from GMCCA. Normal orders should be placed on a DRO = Daily Replenishment Order. In an emergency situation, parts should be ordered on a CSO = Customer Special Order.

Service Procedure

1. Open the rear compartment (trunk) lid. Locate the rear compartment fuse block cover.
2. Remove the cover.

Note: Do not install the new label on top of the existing label.

3. Remove the existing label.
4. Peel the protective liner from the back of the new decal. Use care to not touch the adhesive backing.

5. Center the label using the two outboard mounting tabs for reference.

6. Align the lower edge of the label with the bottom of the cover.
7. Install the label. Press firmly and smooth out the entire label ensuring the corners are fully adhered.
8. Reinstall the cover.
9. Print the appropriate owner’s manual insert (located below) and place it into the owner’s manual.

Dealer Responsibility

All new, used, GM Certified Used, courtesy transportation vehicles, dealer shuttle vehicles, etc. in dealers’ possession and subject to this program must be held and inspected/repaired per the service procedure of this bulletin before customers take possession of these vehicles. Involved vehicles must be held and not delivered to customers, dealer-traded, released to auction, used for demonstration, or any other purpose.

All GM Certified Used vehicles currently in the dealers’ inventory within the Certified Pre-Owned Inventory System (CPOIS) will be de-certified and must be held and remedied per the service procedure in this bulletin. Upon submitting an accepted/paid warranty transaction in the Global Warranty Management (GWM) system, the vehicle can be re-certified for sale within the CPOIS system, or once again be used in the CTP program.

Dealers are to service all vehicles subject to this program at no charge to customers, regardless of mileage, age of vehicle, or ownership, through August 31, 2020. Customers who have recently purchased vehicles sold from your vehicle inventory, and for which there is no customer information indicated on the involved vehicle listing, are to be contacted by the dealer. Arrangements are to be made to make the required correction according to the instructions contained in this bulletin. A copy of the customer letter is provided in this bulletin for your use in contacting customers. Program follow-up cards should not be used for this purpose, since the customer may not as yet have received the notification letter.

In summary, whenever a vehicle subject to this program enters your vehicle inventory, or is in your facility for service through August 31, 2020, you must take the steps necessary to be sure the program correction has been made before selling or releasing the vehicle.

 

Dealer Reports

For dealers with involved vehicles, a listing with involved vehicles has been prepared and will be provided to U.S. and Canadian dealers through the GM GlobalConnect Recall Reports, or sent directly to export dealers. The listing may contain customer names and addresses obtained from Motor Vehicle Registration Records. The use of such motor vehicle registration data for any purpose other than follow-up necessary to complete this program is a violation of law in several states/provinces/countries. Accordingly, you are urged to limit the use of this report to the follow-up necessary to complete this program.

 

Customer Notification

USA & Canada – General Motors will notify customers of this recall on their vehicle (see copy of customer letter included with this bulletin).

Export – Letters will be sent to known owners of record located within areas covered by the US National Traffic and Motor Vehicle Safety Act. For owners outside these areas, dealers should notify customers using the attached sample letter.

We have learned that your 2015-2018 model year Cadillac ATS or CTS may have been built with an owner manual and rear fuse box label that are incorrect.

Your satisfaction with your ATS or CTS is very important to us, so we are announcing a program to prevent this condition or, if it has occurred, to fix it.

What We Will Do: You will find enclosed a replacement rear fuse box label and owner manual insert. This service will be performed for you at no charge until August 31, 2020. After that, any applicable warranty will apply.

What You Should Do: If you would prefer to have your dealer install the label, please contact your dealer to arrange a service appointment at your convenience. This service will be performed for you at no charge. Please bring the label, which is in the enclosed envelope, when you visit your dealer.

To minimize any inconvenience to you, you may choose to install the label yourself by following the enclosed instructions. We have also enclosed replacement pages for your Owner’s Manual. Please insert these into your Owner’s Manual for future reference.

If your dealer has already installed the label on a previous visit, please disregard the enclosed label. However, it is also important to place the enclosed Owner’s Manual inserts with your current Owner’s Manual to correct the fuse locations of your interior electrical center.
