Summary
This Preliminary Information communication provides information to the technician about vehicles that may have a rough idle and/or a vibration at idle in gear. Technician will need to try centering the engine
and transmission mount. For vehicles built before 07/01/2013 if no change the shim to the right engine mount 2 most inner bolts 3mm.

The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.
Condition/Concern
The vehicle may have a rough idle and/or a vibration at idle in gear.
It may also be described as a low idle.
There will not be any DTC with this concern and it will go away just off idle.
Recommendation/Instructions
If this is encountered try centering the engine and trans mount.
If the concern is still there use the following:
For 2014 Silverado and Sierra with 5.3L L83 only built before 07/01/2013
If no change then shim the right engine mount 2 most inner bolts 3mm.
The shims will need to be installed between the mount and the frame.
