Chronology :

On August 4, 2023, GM opened an investigation into the subject condition after a plant quality manager at GM’s Arlington, TX assembly plant determined that up to 223 vehicles may have received an improperly heat-treated bolt and were not contained at the plant. 189 of these vehicles are in the US. During the investigation, testing and analysis demonstrated that, in the event of a control arm separation, there was a potential for rear wheel misalignment that may affect vehicle handling. GM is not aware of any field incidents related to this condition. On September 13, 2023, GM’s Safety Field Action Decision Authority (SFADA) decided to conduct a safety recall.
