Condition
Some customers may comment on their rearview camera acting intermittently or inoperable and may display a blue or black screen with an error message.
Cause
The cause of the condition may be a missing barrel spring in the harness connector.
Correction
Remove the rear closure fixed handle applique and disconnect the connector to inspect
the harness connector contact area and verify if the barrel spring (1) is present in the
cable inside the connector. Refer to Rearview Driver Information Camera Replacement
in SI.
- If the barrel spring is present (2), refer to SI for further diagnostics.
- If the barrel spring is missing (3), replace the harness as part of diagnostic plan
