Condition
Some customers may comment on an oil leak.
Some technicians may find the oil leaking from a bolt at the lower crankcase (bed plate).
Cause

This condition may be caused by porosity in the casting port of the bed plate at bolt
hole #621.

Correction
Validate oil leaking from the bolt hole by cleaning area of concern.
• If oil can be validated to be coming from bolt hole #621, apply sealant to the middle of
the bolt and torque to specifications.

Important: When applying sealant to the threads. Allow a minimal of 12 hours for the
sealant to cure. DO Not run engine until the cure period is over.
⇒ Only apply Loctite PST 565 or equivalent to the threads indicated above (A),
leaving the top and bottom threads clear of sealant.
• If oil can not be validated to be coming from bolt hole #621, refer to SI for further
diagnostics.
