Condition
Some customers may comment on either a Service Leveling or Service Headlight
message displayed on the DIC. When checking for DTC’s a U0132 for loss
of communication with the K5 Automatic Level Control Module (ALCM) may be set in
several modules. When trying to communicate with the Automatic Level Control
Module there will be no communication.
Cause Unknown.
Correction:
Engineering is working on this issue. In the meantime, cycling the power to the K5 Automatic Level Control
Module will restore its operation. Perform the following steps to cycle the power to the ALCM:
1. Turn the ignition off
2. Open the hood and access the X50A Engine Wiring Harness Junction block near the battery.
3. Find and remove fuses 61 (15 amp) and 68 (40 amp).
4. Leave the fuses removed for several minutes and then reinstall.
5. Turn ignition on and check to make sure the ALCM is now communicating.
– If communication returns then clear all DTC’s. Advise the customer it is unlikely the concern will reoccur and
that engineering is working on the concern.
– If communication does not return then perform normal SI diagnostics.

For vehicles repaired under the Bumper-to-Bumper coverage (Canada Base Warranty coverage), use the following
labor operation. Reference the Applicable Warranties section of Investigate Vehicle History (IVH) for coverage
information.
