Condition Some customers may comment that the rear brake lights stay on all the time and/or stay
on while the vehicle is turned off.
Cause

The cause of the condition may be a loose/damaged X200 connector at the left A-Pillar

Correction Test for a loose connection at the connector to see if the brake lights will turn on/off. If
found to be loose, repair the connection at the X200 connector.

Service Procedure
If you encounter a vehicle with the above concern,

move the harness above the X200 before unplugging to

Open the connector and inspect for internal damage to
the connector and terminals.
• If the X200 connector is not fully seated or

GM bulletins are intended for use by professional technicians, NOT a “do-it-yourselfer”. They are written to inform these
technicians of conditions that may occur on some vehicles, or to provide information that could assist in the proper
service of a vehicle. Properly trained technicians have the equipment, tools, safety instructions, and know-how to do a
job properly and safely. If a condition is described, DO NOT assume that the bulletin applies to your vehicle, or that your
vehicle will have that condition. See your GM dealer for information on whether your vehicle may benefit from the
information.
