Summary
THIS PRELIMINARY INFORMATION COMMUNICATION PROVIDES INFORMATION TO THE TECHNICIAN ABOUT VEHICLES THAT MAY HAVE A SERVICE ENGINE SOON MALFUNCTION INDICATOR LAMP, ANTILOCK BRAKING SYSTEM MALFUNCTION INDICATOR LAMP, SERVICE SUSPENSION SYSTEM MESSAGE, MISFIRE, HESITATION, NO CRANK, HEATER-VENT-AIR CONDITIONING INOPERATIVE. TECHNICIAN MAY FIND F11UA, F104UA, F35UA, AND OR F60UA BLOWN. TECHNICIAN SHOULD INSPECT THE ENGINE HARNESS NEAR THE VACUUM PUMP PULLEY TO BE CHAFING. TECHNICIAN WILL NEED TO REROUTE THE WIRE HARNESS AND REPAIR AND DAMAGED WIRES.
Condition/Concern
Any of the following issues:
- SES MIL
- ABS MIL
- Service Suspension System Message
- Misfire
- Hesitation
- No crank
- A/C inoperative
- Low engine oil level message
- Fuse(s) blown: STRTR fuse 11/104 (F11UA/F104UA) and/or A/C Clutch Fuse 35/60 (F35UA/F60UA)
- As well as any combination of the following DTCs may be found: B393B, C0035, C0040, C0575, C0580, C0615, C0620, C0625, C0630, C0696, P06DA, P06DB, P06DC, P250A, P0300, P0325, P0327, P0328, P0330, P0332, P0333, P0340, P0341, P0335, P0336, P0532, P0533, P0641, P0011, P0010, P2088, P2089, and/or P2230.
These issues could be caused by the engine harness rubbing on the engine vacuum pump pulley.
Recommendation/Instructions
Repair any damaged circuits, and re-secure the harness away from the pulley to prevent the issue from reoccurring.
