Condition Some customers may comment on the headliner sagging, and the rear edge of the
headliner is visible through the rear window.
Cause There may be various causes for this condition.
Correction Following the steps in the Service Procedure below, add magnets to the rear of the
headliner.
Service Procedure
1. It is only necessary to lower the rear of the
headliner. Only do those steps in the headlining
procedure that will allow access to the roof sheet
metal and top side of headliner. Refer to the
appropriate Headlining Trim Panel Replacement
in SI.
2. Order two of the magnet service parts listed in the
part table below and hot glue the magnets to the
headliner following the steps below:
2.1. Fold the rear seat back to the full downward
position.
Note: Because this will be a mostly blind operation,
applying tape on the topside of the headliner, to mark
the location of the magnet installation, will be helpful.

2.2. Position the tape edges at the locations
dimensioned off of the rear crossmember in
the graphic above. 153 mm (6.0 in) (1)
inboard of the CENTER hole location and 51
mm (2.0 in) (2) from the rear edge of the
crossmember.

2.3. To minimize risk of any glue dripping on
interior trim, cover any exposed trim with an
appropriate covering.
Tip: It may be helpful to have a 2nd person apply the
hot glue to the magnet and hand it to the installer
through the trunk/rear seat opening.
2.4. Apply the hot glue to each magnet, then press
the magnets to the headliner at both tape
edge mark locations.
2.5. Allow the glue to cure for a few minutes
before repositioning the headliner and
securing the magnets to the roof sheet metal.
3. Reinstall the headliner and any trim removed.

4. Reposition the rear seat back.
