5334411 Some customers may comment on seeing cracks on the shock tower, near the strut top mount. Some examples are shown in the graphics above. Note: Be sure to inspect additional suspension components and disassemble the tire/ wheel assembly to verify no other components are damaged. |
| Cause | The cause of the condition may be a hard impact (such as curb or pot hole) that drives a lot of energy up through the strut tower casting, ultimately cracking it. |
| Correction | To repair this condition, the shock tower must be replaced. Refer to Front Wheelhouse Panel Replacement (Partial) or Front Wheelhouse Panel Replacement (Complete) in SI. Note: Vehicles repaired for the conditions outlined in this bulletin should not be considered warranty. Any warranty claims submitted with these conditions may be debited. |
