Correction:
Do NOT replace the BCM for this concern. Warranty returns have shown this replacement will not repair this concern.
Service Procedure:
Before continuing verify the engine is running, the headlamps, not DRL’s are on, the covers are not installed on the lamps and that the O Road Lamp switch has been pressed for 3 seconds.
Verify programming. (2016) If the vehicle has RPO S3X, the BCM was programmed for these lights at the factory. Without this RPO the technician must contact TCSC and obtain the correct BCM calibrations. 2017-21, all BCM’s came with this option turned on, no need to program them.
Check for 12 volts at terminal 6 of the headlamp switch with a DVOM. If not present it is likely the other end of this circuit is not located in X1-12 at the BCM or the incorrect terminal is in place there. Recheck for proper installation and terminal t testing with the appropriate terminal test lead. Refer to eSI for the appropriate test lead.
Remove BCM X5 and apply voltage to terminal 5, if the lights now illuminate verify terminal location and the correct terminal is installed. Again, refer to eSI for the appropriate test lead. If there is still an issue verify the power feeds and grounds at the relay connector.
NOTE: It is very easy to select the incorrect terminals from the kit as it can also be installed on the full size truck that uses a different BCM. Suggest using the connector end views in eSI to verify the terminal locations in the BCM and headlamp switch connectors and to use the listed test terminal to verify terminal tension.

THIS PRELIMINARY INFORMATION COMMUNICATION PROVIDES INFORMATION TO THE TECHNICIAN ABOUT VEHICLES THAT HAVE ACCESSORY OFF ROAD LIGHTS INSTALLED FROM THE DEALER. NOW AFTER THE INSTALLATION THE LIGHTS ARE INOPERATIVE. TECHNICIAN WILL NEED TO VERIFY THE ENGINE IS RUNNING AND THE HEADLIGHTS ARE ON AND THE DAY TIME RUNNING LIGHTS AND THE SWITCH HAS BEEN PRESSED FOR 3 SECONDS. ALSO INSURE THE COVERS ARE NOT INSTALLED ON THE OFF ROAD LIGHTS. TECHNICIAN WILL NEED TO VERIFY THE BODY CONTROL MODULE PROGRAMMING. VEHICLES WITH REGULAR PRODUCTION OPTION CODE S3X THE BODY CONTROL MODULE IS PROGRAMMED FOR THE LIGHTS. FOR VEHICLES THAT DO NOT HAVE REGULAR PRODUCTION OPTION CODE S3X TECHNICIAN TILL NEED TO CALL TECHLINE CUSTOMER SUPPORT CENTER FOR PROGRAMMING ASSISTANCE. TECHNICIAN SHOULD TEST THE HEADLIGHT SWITCH TERMINAL 6 FOR SYSTEM VOLTAGE. IF NO VOLTAGE PRESENT O TERMINAL 6 CHECK THE BODY CONTROL MODULE X1 TERMINAL 12 FOR THE PROPER INSTALLATION. REPAIR AND TERMINAL DAMAGED OR NOT INSTALLED CORRECTLY. THEN REMOVE BODY CONTROL MODULE CONNECTOR X5 AND APPLY VOLTAGE TO TERMINAL 5, IF THE LIGHTS NOW ILLUMINATE IT IS LIKELY THE INCORRECT TERMINAL HAS BEEN USED IN THIS POSITION, REFER TO SERVICE INFORMATION FOR THE APPROPRIATE TEST TOOL AND TERMINAL.
