Condition/Concern
Some customers may comment that the Service Stabilitrak and/or Antilock Brake System Warning lamp(s) are illuminated. This may be an intermittent condition.
When diagnosing the vehicle, the technician may find DTC C0045 Left Rear Wheel Speed Sensor Signal or C0050 Right Rear Wheel Speed Sensor Signal set.
This condition may be caused by one or both of the rear wheel speed sensor (WSS) harness terminal(s) or connector(s) not being fully seated (connected).
Recommendation/Instructions
Important: Do not attempt to re-seat the terminal into the connector. This will not be a permanent repair. If the terminal is out of position or not locked into the connector, the connector must be replaced.
Use the following steps to diagnose and repair the condition:
- Locate the affected rear wheel speed sensor(s) (WSS) harness connector, located on the upper control arm.
- Disconnect the harness from the wheel speed sensor lead.
- Release the two harness retainers from the control arm.
- Inspect the terminals and ensure they are not damaged or pushing out of position in the connector.
- Reinstall the connector to conduit collar.
- Reconnect the harness to the wheel speed sensor.
- Reattach the harness to the control arm.
- Clear the DTCs as required.
