Summary

This service bulletin provides diagnostic information for the technician regarding a customer concern of engine overheating, cooling system contaminated with engine oil.

 

 


Condition

Engine is overheating.

One or more of the following conditions:

 

Cause

This condition may be caused by a leakage from the main oil gallery to a water jacket through block porosity or thin wall casting.

–  A very thick oil in coolant mix in the radiator and coolant overflow reservoir may be found.

–  The average oil pressure is over 414 kPa (60 psi) and the coolant pressure is 110 kPa (16 psi).
