This Preliminary information communicates that GM Engineering recommends the use of the PF63 oil filter on all 2023 and newer L5P powered vehicles. If a PF63 is not available, a PF26 can also be used.
Condition
A technician may see this new filter and look in the part catalog and SI for clarification.
Cause
2023 L5P engines are being made with a new oil filter, PF63.
Correction:
Even though the PF26 is listed in the part catalog and SI for this engine, either filter can be used on this engine.
