Summary
This service bulletin provides information for dealers/technicians on on unable to open folding top, DTC B19E1 sym64 possibly set.
Condition
Some customers may comment that the folding top will not open. Technicians may find DTC B19E1 sym64 set.
Cause
The cause of the condition may be that the body side frame access hole plug may not have been seated properly. This may lead to the plug interfering with B373 Folding Top Side Rail – Roof Panels Stowed Sensor.
Note: The body side frame access hole plug must be fully seated whenever the plug is removed.
Correction
1. First gain access to the body side frame access hole plug. Refer to Opening the Folding Top Stowage Compartment Lid — Engine Access section within Folding Top and Folding Top Stowage Compartment Lid Operation in the Service Manual.
2. Inspect the body side frame access hole plug to assure it is fully seated.
Note: The customer should be informed to ensure the access plug is secured, and fully seated, before driving the vehicle whenever the oil or coolant is checked. Please share this information with the customer, including a copy of this bulletin.
