Condition
A 2021 vehicle equipped with a HFV6 Gen2 engine with AFM may be brought into the dealership with misfires on cylinder 2 or 5.
This could be misfire all the time or start after an AFM event that may or may not go away.
Cause

Correction: If you have a vehicle with this concern, swap the AFM rocker oil control solenoid in the camshaft cover from side to side and reevaluate. If the misfire remains or comes back after an AFM event on the same cylinder, replace all 4 rockers / SRFF’s and all 4 SHLA’s / lifters for the affected cylinder. If the misfire goes away or moves to the other bank, replace the AFM oil control solenoid.
