This service bulletin provides a procedure to perform a transmission
solenoid clean procedure 3 times depending on what DTC has set.

Condition
Some customers may comment that the MIL is illuminated.
Some technicians may find one or more of the following DTCs set in the Transmission Control Module (TCM):
P2832, P2837, P283C, P2841 and/’or P2864
Cause
This condition may be caused by an internal transmission solenoid or switch sticking due to debris.
Correction
Note: If circuit diagnostics are required to determine the repair, shift fork cleaning, Service Clean, and Service Fast Learn will not help. This bulletin is targeted for mechanical and hydraulic type issues only.
Using the GDS, perform the indicated DTC Shift Fork Hydraulic Control System Cleaning Procedure based on the DTC that set. The cleaning procedure should be performed 3 times. Once this is completed, perform the Service Clean Procedure followed by Transmission Service Fast Learn. Refer to the Service Procedure section below.
• If DTCs P2832 and/or P2837: Perform Odd Gear Shift Fork Hydraulic Control System Cleaning Procedure — 3 times.
• If DTCs P283C, P2841 and/or P2864: Perform Even Gear Shift Fork Hydraulic Control System Cleaning Procedure — 3 times.
• Perform the Service Clean procedure then Service Fast Learn.
• If DTCs reset, refer to SI for further diagnostics.

transmission reaches operating temperature.

be performed. Only perform one of the cleaning
procedures that correspond with the DTC that has set.
6. Perform the Shift Fork Hydraulic Control System
Cleaning Procedure based on the DTC set 3 times.

7. Once the Shift Fork Hydraulic Control System
Cleaning Procedure has been completed 3 times,
select Configurations/Reset Functions.

8. Select the Service Cleaning Procedure.

9. Perform the Transmission Service Fast Learn.
10. Take the vehicle for a test drive to verify the DTCs
do not reset.
