Summary
This Preliminary information communicates that a vehicle may be encountered with the heated/ventilated seats inoperative. Upon further inspection it will be found that the F19DA fuse will be open. The technician is instructed to inspect the wiring harness that goes to the passenger seat back blower motor for chaffing on the seat frame. If chaffing is found the technician is instructed to repair the damaged circuits and reroute the harness.

Cause
Circuit 639 shorted to ground on the passenger seat back frame.
Correction:
Remove the front passenger seat back cover.
Inspect the harness that goes to the seat back blower for chaffing on the seat back frame in the area shown below.

Both front heated and ventilated seats inoperative.
On further inspection it may be found that fuse F19DA is open.
If the fuse is replaced it may be okay for a while or it may immediately go open again.
Circuit 639 shorted to ground on the passenger seat back frame.
Correction:
Remove the front passenger seat back cover.
Inspect the harness that goes to the seat back blower for chaffing on the seat back frame in
the area shown below.
The harness may need to be moved to see the area that is damaged.
If no damage is found in this area, also inspect the harness along the side of the seat frame as
shown in the two photos below.
Repair the damaged circuits following the correct procedure in SI for wire and connector repair.
