This Preliminary information was updated to extend testing prior to engine replacement.
This preliminary information was updated to refer to engine restriction PI and add possibility of part swaps.
This Preliminary information was updated for parts changes and to advise what is now available.
This Preliminary information was updated to remove reference to a parts restriction and edit parts swapping.
Condition
Some customers may comment that after vehicle sits overnight or for several days that upon starting the engine they notice white or blue smoke coming from the exhaust.
This may be more noticeable when starting the vehicle using the remote start.
Cause
Engineering has determined that this condition may be cause by manufacturing debris coming from the intake manifold.
This debris can become embedded in the cylinder bores causing accelerated piston ring and cylinder bore wear.
Correction:
To check for this concern first inspect the outlet of the turbochargers for the presence of oil with dye in the system.

Model: ATS Model Years: 2016 VIN: from to All All Engine: 3.6L LF4 All Transmissions: Involved Region or Country Condition Cause North America Some customers may comment that after vehicle sits overnight or for several days that upon starting the engine they notice white or blue smoke coming from the exhaust. This may be more noticeable when starting the vehicle using the remote start. Engineering has determined that this condition may be cause by manufacturing debris coming from the intake manifold. This debris can become embedded in the cylinder bores causing accelerated piston ring and cylinder bore wear. Correction: To check for this concern first inspect the outlet of the turbochargers for the presence of oil with dye in the system. (See below) If oil is found at the outlet of the turbocharger on either side, then replace the turbocharger, drive to clean out the exhaust and then let sit to get cold and reevaluate. If no oil at the turbocharger outlet then inspect for PCV operation and check for crankcase pressure. If the PCV system is operating correctly and there is crankcase pressure then the above condition is the likely concern. If this condition is found it will be necessary to replace the engine assembly and the intake manifold. Also it will be necessary to clean out the PCV hoses and valves when replacing the necessary components. Once repair is completed reevaluate the concern. NOTE: The new engine may come with a different oil pan and flywheel / flexplate than the original. If this is the case then those components will need to be reused from the original engine or replaced. Warranty Information For vehicles repaired under the Powertrain coverage, use the following labor operation. - Produced with the highest grade materials
- Satisfaction ensured
- package height : 15.24 cm
- package length : 4.064 cm
- package width : 6.858 cm
- Product type : AUTO OIL
- Country of manufacture: United States
- FAST, ACCURATE LEAK DETECTION: Professional-grade, universal fluorescent dye quickly identifies leaks in automotive systems, reducing diagnostic time and eliminating guesswork
- PINPOINT EVEN THE SMALLEST LEAKS: High-visibility fluorescent dye circulates through the system and glows under UV light, revealing micro, hidden, and intermittent leaks fast
- PRODUCT DETAILS: Finds leaks in Oil, Fuel, ATF, and Power Steering Systems, Fluoresces Yellow/Green, Works with All Leak Detection Flashlights, Each bottle services 8 vehicles
- CLEAN, NO-MESS APPLICATION: Designed for use with syringe-style injectors, the twin-neck bottle eliminates guesswork and ensures accurate dosing; Helps reduce spills and overfilling, making it ideal for quick service and maintenance job
- INCLUDES DYE BOTTLE ONLY: Package contains UV dye bottle only - Injector, hose, and UV flashlight sold separately; Proudly Made in the USA
- Works Where Used Oil Makes Leaks Hard To See: Designed for real world oil conditions where dark, used fluid can make leaks easy to miss. When checked with a UV inspection flashlight, leak points show up clearly, even in dirty engine oil
- Precision Nozzle Keeps The Job Clean: Switch to the pointed nozzle cap when you are ready to use it. It gives you better control, helps avoid overuse, and keeps dye from dripping onto surrounding parts, tools, or engine surfaces
- Finds Small And Intermittent Leaks: Designed to help pinpoint micro leaks, slow leaks, and multiple leak points that are often missed during quick visual checks, especially in complex oil systems
- Made For Automotive Oil-Based Systems: Safe for engine oil, fuel systems, transmissions, ATF, power steering, and hydraulic systems. The dye circulates with the fluid to reveal leak sources without blocking or damaging oil lines
- Low Odor: No harsh chemical smell while you work. The 150ml size gives you more coverage per bottle, and a tamper-evident foil seal under the cap helps prevent leaks during shipping and shows the bottle is unopened when it arrives
