Condition
Note: This is a multi-wire electrical connector at which can set a variety of DTCs. Not all of the
effects or driver notifications listed have been experienced. However, the different effects and
driver notifications may be caused by one of the terminals in the electrical connector not coming
into contact with the pins in the module. Components on different lines in the list below are in
different circuits. Due to the cause of the condition, and the positions of the wires in the
connector, it is unlikely that more than one circuit will be affected by the condition.
Some customers may comment on one or more of the following conditions:
• MIL Illuminated
• Shift to Park Message on DIC
• Unable to Turn Off Ignition
• Discharged Battery
Some technicians may find one or more of the following DTCs set in the Transmission Control Module
(TCM) K71 and there may be a lack of communication with TCM (K71) and ECM (E20):

This condition may be caused by the TCM (K71) connector not being seated and latched properly,
causing poor terminal connection from to the TCM to the engine harness.
⇒ Initial inspection may show that the connector is cocked or high on one side of the connector
body.
Inspect the TCM (K71) connector for being properly seated.
