Some customers may comment that a door may not unlock on the first attempt and may unlock on
subsequent unlock attempts. This concern could be with any of the vehicles doors.
This concern could be caused by friction between the lock rod and the door panel lock rod bezel
ring (1), shown below.
Correction:
Remove the door panel lock rod bezel ring and actuate the door locks. If the locks function
properly, inspect the door panel lock rod bezel ring opening for excessive door skin flashing (2),
as well as, the key way opening for

being covered over (3), both shown below. Use a sharp drill/cutter to remove any excessive door
skin flashing without making the ID of the door opening larger.

Install a new door panel lock rod bezel ring on the affected door. Bezels are available from CCA,
see the “Parts Information” section below. Do not repair any unaffected doors.
When installing the new door panel lock rod bezel ring, ensure the bezel is properly clocked to the
door panel key way opening (4), shown below.
