Cause Potential open F3BA 400 AMP fuse in X50D Fuse Block –
Battery
Correction:
If the above concern is encountered, and the starter motor does not rotate during a crank request,
test for an open F3BA 400 AMP fuse in the X50D Fuse Block – Battery.
If the F3BA 400 AMP fuse is not open, follow the Starter Malfunction diagnostic in SI.
If the F3BA 400 AMP fuse is open: Test for infinite resistance between the test points: B+ circuit
terminal A X2 @ M64 Starter Motor & Ground
If less than infinite resistance » Repair the short to ground on the circuit.
If infinite resistance: Do not replace the Starter Motor, replace the component: X50D Fuse Block –
Battery and retest for proper engine cranking.
If the engine no crank condition continues, follow the Starter Malfunction diagnostic in SI.
