Some customers may comment after performing a Remote vehicle start, using their remote app (example
My Chevrolet) or when using a key fob, they may notice a Service Column Lock message displayed on
the DIC. The message can be dismissed and there
Condition
are no other symptoms. When checking the vehicle for DTC’s, a B144C sym06 may be set in the
Steering Column Lock Module.
Note: This concern does not cause any loss of the steering column lock functions. The column lock
system will be fully functional along with the remote start system.
Cause
This concern could be cause by a power moding timing issue between the BCM and Steering Column Lock
Module.
Correction:
To correct this concern, reprogram the BCM with the latest software available after May 26, 2019 in
Tis2Web.
