| Condition | Some customers may comment on water collecting in the muffler after a rainstorm or washing the vehicle. If it is allowed to set during freezing temperatures it can cause a no start due to ice buildup. |
| Cause | The cause of the condition may be the angle of the exhaust pipe allows water to travel back to the first bend after the axle. This happens as the water flows down the back of the vehicle over the rear fascia. |
| Correction | Drill a small hole at the lowest point of the exhaust pipe after it goes over the axle and starts towards the back of the vehicle. |
Service Procedure
- Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle, in SI.
- Locate the lowest point of the exhaust pipe, behindthe front axle.
