Summary
This Preliminary information communicates that a vehicle may be brought to the dealer with a complaint that the driver’s side power seat will not move at times. The dealer technician may find a code B3920. The technician is instructed to inspect the seat harness beneath the driver’s seat for being pinched between the memory seat module bracket and the seat frame tube. If damage is found to the harness the technician is instructed to repair or replace the harness as needed and reroute it to avoid future damage to the harness.

| Condition | A vehicle may arrive at the dealer with a complaint that the driver’s side power seat will not move at times. Upon checking for codes a B3920 may be found. |
| Cause | The wire harness may be incorrectly routed below the seat frame tube and pinched between the memory seat module bracket and the seat cushion frame tube. |
Correction:
Inspect the seat harness for being routed below the seat frame tube instead of above it.
The harness can be seen by looking in from the front of the seat with the seat in a raised position.
- Seat Frame Tube
- Harness routed below seat frame tube allowing contact with MSM bracket
- Proper routing of harness above seat frame
If the harness is found to be routed below the seat frame tube inspect it for being pinched between the memory seat module bracket and the seat frame tube as shown below.
Unbolt the seat and flip it up to gain access.
Repair or replace the seat harness as needed.
Re-route the harness above the seat frame tube so that it will not become pinched or damaged.

If the harness is found to be routed properly follow SI for diagnosis of concern.
This PI may be converted to a Bulletin in the future if new information becomes available.
