SEOCONTENT-START
Bulletin No.: PIP5256B Date: Oct-2015 Subject: Service 4WD Message Displayed In DIC Models: 2015-2016 Chevrolet Colorado 2015-2016 GMC Canyon With 4WD RPO NQ6 or NQ7 This PI was superseded to update Model Years. Please discard PIP5256A. The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI. Condition/Concern Some customers may comment on a Service 4WD message displayed in the IPC. Dealers may find diagnostic trouble code B2725 or B0770 in the Transfer Case Control Module. Recommendation/Instructions Some vehicles may have been built with the incorrect Transfer Case Select switch. For Colorado (NQ7): Before performing Service Information diagnostics verify that the vehicle has the correct 4WD switch installed in the dash panel. For 2015 model year the Chevrolet Colorado DOES NOT have the Auto 4WD option. If the vehicle has a switch with the Auto 4WD position the DTC sets when Auto is selected sending an invalid voltage to the TCCM. For 2016 Chevrolet Colorado with ANY GASOLINE engine, Auto 4WD is NOT an option. If the vehicle has a switch with the Auto 4WD position the DTC sets when Auto is selected sending an invalid voltage to the TCCM. For 2016 Chevrolet Colorado with the 2.8l diesel Auto 4WD is an option and the vehicle build needs to be confirmed. Vehicles built with NQ7 do not have Auto 4WD and the switch should look accordingly. Replace the switch with the correct switch listed in the parts catalog. If the vehicle has the correct switch continue with published diagnostics. NQ7 For Canyon (NQ6): Before performing Service Information diagnostics verify that the vehicle has the correct 4WD switch installed in the dash panel. For GMC Canyon the vehicle should have a switch with the Auto position, switch without Auto may set a B0770 DTC which is for the Auto 4WD LED indicator circuit but will not set a B2725. Replace the switch with the correct switch listed in the parts catalog. If the vehicle has the correct switch continue with published diagnostics. NQ6 Warranty Information For vehicles repaired under warranty use: Labor Operation Description Labor Time 8420100 Transfer Case Selector Switch Replacement Use Published Labor Operation Time Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.

I bought a 2018 Colorado and only has 350 miles on it and service 4wd is on did. What could be the issue?
You probably have a code for the 4 wheel drive motor, have some one clear the codes and cycle between 2 wheel drive and 4 wheel drive couple times, and you should be good to go.
