Summary
This service bulletin provides information on where to look when the vehicle is experiencing the conditions of Malfunction Indicator Lamp Illuminated 5V Reference, Reduced Power, Extended Crank, Body Harness to Fuel Tank Damage due to incorrect tire size.
Condition
Some customers may comment on a Malfunction Indicator Lamp illuminated, extended crank or reduced power.
Cause
This concern may be caused by a damaged body to fuel pump harness and/or the use of oversized tires that may damage the Chassis module to fuel pump connector X350.
The harness damage may also cause an intermittent short during heavy acceleration if vehicle is not exhibiting the other concerns. Upon inspection, the F35RA fuse in the rear fuse block may also be blown.
Correction
Inspect the left rear wheelhouse liner for a rub through condition due to incorrect tire size.

If you encounter a vehicle with the above concern, inspect the left rear wheelhouse liner for a rub through condition. • If the concern is caused by a rub through condition and the vehicle is not equipped with original equipment (OE) tires, then advise the customer of the importance to use the same tire size and manufacturer as the vehicle was originally equipped with. The repair is not covered as a warranty claim. Important: The same tire size, but a different manufacturer, could result in up to 10mm difference in actual tire size. • If the concern is caused by a rub through condition and the vehicle is equipped with the OE tires, please submit a field product report and include pictures and tire information.
