Summary
This service bulletin provides repair information to correct a customer concern of excessive wind noise heard coming from the sunroof front edge area, front length of sunroof window inner seal may become loose or detached.
Condition
Some customers may comment on hearing excessive wind noise from the sunroof front edge area or may notice that the sunroof window inner seal has become detached or loose at the front.
Cause
The cause of this condition may be improper retention of the inner sunroof window seal.
Correction
Apply Instant Adhesive Loctite, or equivalent, to the inboard walls of two standing ribs of the forward sunroof frame and reinstall the seal following the Service Procedure below.

Service Procedure Important: Service agents must comply with all International, Federal, State, Provincial, and/or Local laws applicable to the activities it performs under this bulletin, including but not limited to handling, deploying, preparing, classifying, packaging, marking, labeling, and shipping dangerous goods. In the event of a conflict between the procedures set forth in this bulletin and the laws that apply to your dealership, you must follow those applicable laws. 1. Open the sunroof sunshade to the fully open position. 2. Open the sunroof window to the fully open position. 6163015 3. Pull off the inner sunroof window seal from the sunroof frame, across the front only. 6163016 Important: Any excess adhesive that may spill onto to the roof surface is very difficult to remove. Ensure the paint surface it protected with tape. 4. Apply painter’s tape, or equivalent, across the roof surface, forward of the inner sunroof window seal. 5. Clean the front frame area using a lint-free cloth dampened with a 50/50 mixture of isopropyl alcohol and water. Then wipe dry. Bulletin No.: 22-NA-197 October, 2022 Page 3 6163018 6163020 6. Apply Instant Adhesive Loctite to the inboard walls of the two standing ribs (1) of the forward sunroof frame.Apply the adhesive along the entire front edge and both front corners. 7. Reinstall the inner sunroof window seal. Inspect the gap and flushness of the seal. 8. Perform the Sunroof Initialization/Teach Process and verify proper operation. Refer to Sunroof/ Sunshade Motor Initialization in SI. 9. Close the sunroof window and sunshade. 10. Remove the tape from the roof surface.
