Cause
This condition may be caused by contamination in the A/C refrigerant.
Correction
If you duplicate this condition and the vehicle VIN is included in the above list, recover the refrigerant using the GE-50957 Contaminated Refrigerant Recovery Machine.
Parts Information
Replace the components with the P/N’s outlined in the Electronic Parts Catalog (EPC) in accordance with the vehicle VIN.

Cause This condition may be caused by contamination in the A/C refrigerant. Correction If you duplicate this condition and the vehicle VIN is included in the above list, recover the refrigerant using the GE-50957 Contaminated Refrigerant Recovery Machine. Repair direction is based on review and is provided below determined by the 11th VIN digit. Reference the 11th VIN digit to determine the assembly plant the vehicle came from. Note: If the truck was built outside the noted VIN breaks or if PIE0630 is not included in Service Information section of VIS , perform the regular published A/C diagnosis in eSI. Remove the inlet and outlet lines from the compressor, the compressor solenoid and the lines to the TXV. 2020/21 Equinox or 2021 Blazer built at the Ramos plant. (11th VIN Digit = S) Inspect the lines and ports at the points opened up, verify contamination present on compressor solenoid. (see examples below.) Inspect the picture of the TXV . If there is solid contamination in the TXV you will need to replace the entire A/C system. If it is clean or there is just oil and/or dye present (see examples below) you will need to replace everything EXCEPT the evaporator. If you have any questions, contact TAC for assistance. You may need to provide pictures of these points for review. Run the performance tests in eSi and verify system functioning as designed before releasing vehicle. 2021 Equinox or Terrain built at the SLP plant (11th VIN Digit = L) Verify contamination present on compressor solenoid. (see examples below) Inspect the compressor inlet/ outlet lines and port and also the TXV. If there is solid contamination in the TXV, you will need to replace the entire system. Oil and/or dye present is normal. (See examples below.) Page 2 November, 2021 Bulletin No.: 21-NA-248 If there is solid contamination in the compressor inlet/ outlet you will need to replace everything EXCEPT the evaporator. If there is solid contamination on just the compressor solenoid you will need to replace just the compressor and receiver/dryer. Note that it is not necessary to replace the condenser, the receiver/dryer is replaceable separately. If you have any questions, contact TAC for assistance. You may need to provide pictures of these points for review. - KIT CONTENTS - 5 Cans of ZeroR Permafrost are 4oz by weight. The contents are a blend of the proprietary performance enhancer as well as a refrigerant to propel the additive into the system. The can tap is 12” in length with a gauge metered for R1234YF systems. Standard R1234YF can taps will not work on ZeroR branded R1234YF cans, because our cans have a unique thread.
- 10 MINUTE INSTALL - Please read the can label for important details. (1) Turn your vehicle on, set the AC to max cool & max fan. (2) Connect the can tap to the first can and the other end to the low side service port on the vehicle. (3) Flip the can upside down Use the valve to release the refrigerant into the system. Every 10-15 seconds close the valve to view the pressure gauge. Repeat step 3 until the pressure gauge indicates the system is full. Do not overfill your system!
- Legal - HFO-1234YF refrigerant and ZeroR branded R1234YF products are flammable and should be handled and stored in a safe environment suitable for flammable products. We recommend only using this product in systems designed for flammable refrigerants such as R1234YF vehicle a/c systems. See product label for additional safety information.
