Transmission fluid leak on vehicles equipped with a GF9, 9TXX transmission assembly.
The transmission fluid leak may be fluid that remained in the top pockets of the transmission
assembly that was not thoroughly cleaned during assembly that may now be seen underneath the
vehicle.
Correction:
Clean any transmission fluid seen.
Inspect the transmission fluid level and adjust to correct level as needed.
Install the dye into the transmission assembly and road test for a minimum of 15 miles, ensuring
the transmission fluid temperature gets to operating temperature.
Then use the black light to inspect for visual signs of the dye.
If dye is detected, address the leak as needed.
If dye NOT detected, NO further repairs are needed.
