The vibration may be more noticeable in reverse and during cold starts. Some customers may comment the vehicle has a short vibration during a launch. The cause of this concern may be internal to the torque converter. Correction: Using a Pico Oscilloscope Diagnostic Kit, mount the Pico Scope 3 axis vibration sensor (TA143) on the inner driver’s seat track with the hole or arrow on the sensor facing towards the front of the vehicle. Start the engine and place the vehicle in drive or reverse. While in the service bay with the vehicle not moving with the service brake applied increase the engine speed between 800 and 1000 RPM in an attempt to duplicate the vibration. Record a 30 second time frame of data. Review the Pico data and the data indicates an E2 vibration at 29 Hz between 1.1 mg to 12.7 mg or an E1 vibration at 14.1 Hz between 1.14 mg to 7.48 mg replace the transmission torque converter.
