  1. I have taken my Buick Envlave to two different Buick dealerships. The first one wanted to charge me $1300 to repair the steeeing pump (which isn’t covered in the recall) and the second dealership wants to charge me $1800 to repair the rack and pinion. First dealership never mentioned the rack and pinion. Do I have to have the repair done at a Buick dealership?

  2. What needs to be done or said in order for the dealer or repair shop to honor this bulletin so there is no back and forth with this? It’s just a matter of time before this causes serious injuries or even deaths.

  3. GM does not honor this document if your loss of power steering results in an accident. Even though the cause of the accident was sudden loss of power steering assist. Some how I am responsible, even though their sales person failed to mention there could be a problem with the power steering
and if I notice any signs bring it in to the dealership and we will take care of it for you. That is simple enough to say and would not have deterred me from purchasing my 2015 Acadia. Of course they make no mention of this common problem I am sure they are aware of. All of a sudden your driving like you normally do you apply the brake to make a turn steering wheel becomes extremely difficult catches you off guard and there you are in an accident. GM can’t say for sure that the power steering pump, hose and gear assembly were not damaged as a result of the accident. Well crazy those are all the parts covered by this special coverage adjustment, and the accident would have never happened if the loss of power steering assist never occurred.

  4. My wife’s 2010 Chevy Traverse (90,500mi) experienced loss of power steering while we were in NC, and the local dealer replaced the PS pump, but now 3 months later I am told the vehicle is unsafe and will not pass safety inspection. Shouldn’t this problem be taken care of so that the system is back to safe use status? Why is GM saying that there can be damage to the steering gear because of the pump problem, but won’t cover the damaged gear caused by it?

  5. I had the pump replaced at no charge but was told the rack and pinion had to be replaced at the same time. This I paid for. I don’t see anything about the r&p needing to be replaced in order to do this service. Was I duped into paying for the additional repair??

  6. I have a 2011 GMC Acadia and have recently started gaveling the intermittent loss in power steering when I turn. My husband replaced the pump and flushed the system but I’m still having issues and GMC doesn’t have a recall for my VIN number on this.

  7. I have the same problem as Bob Johnson. The dealer in Fort St John BC is refusing to acknowledge the loss of power steering assist that has occurred numberous times. What is a person to do?

  8. I called my dealership and they said there’s nothing out there for this car on the recall is there something else I should be telling them the bulletin number is 14329ait’s about a power steering problem
