In reply to Megan Flanery. I have the same problem with my 2016 LT model. I noticed the temp change causes to sound louder. Have you found any solutions?

I own a 2016 Malibu LT with 2.0T. Is this problem covered under the power train warranty? I have 1000.00 miles left until the power train warranty runs out.

Would this be a manufacture defect?

The reason why I ask is because my Malibu is from this plant and is making this exact noise…but my car is out of power train warranty so UNLESS is considered a manufacture defect GM won’t cover it. Now is this considered a recall?
