Same thing happened to me and they are telling me it will be $6980 to put a new engine in. That is more than the car is worth. Plus General Motors did not send me anything to inform me of the problem. All I could go on was researching to find this. General Motors knows they are putting out a bad product and not telling people. Sounds to me like a class action lawsuit waiting to happen!!!!

My 2013 Chev. Cruz just over heated yesterday. I was in a bad area, but stopped and placed coolant in it. Seemed ok, until I got a mile from home. Now I am told the engine is fried. Over $3000 to fixed. I still own over $8000 on the car. This is going to kill me. My wife has cancer. I can not afford this. Guess I will lose the car.

I bought my 2013 cruze in June 1, 2016 and the recall was already in effect . Is it legal for them to sell a car with those open recall? It also has the safety issue of the the axle fracturing! Both were active when they sold me the car. This car has been worked on so many times it's ridiculous. It started 2 weeks after I bought it and they wanted to charge me to look at it and wouldnt help me at all. Then said I can come back abd they will trade it in for another better car in 6 months. They didn't OBVIOUSLY. Now I cant trade it in because I'm 4000 dollars upside down on my loan after 2.5 yrs? They scammed me so bad I cant believe it. I need someone to help me get out from under this car. I'm stuck. Anyways dont buy a cruze!!

2013 Cruze had same water pump problem; caused overheating which led to turbocharger failing; had to have replaced at a cost of $1200; at the time vehicle had been out of warranty less than 2 months.
