Took my 07 malibu in today for this problem was told that my “special warranty” ran out the 1st of this month… how convenient… I’ve only had this car since Jan 26th this year…

If I took my g6 in for other recall work , why didn’t the dealer ask me or inform me of this steering issue 15356 specoal coverage .
Now my wife and daughter car has a problem, but the dealer said they want cover it.due to going over the 150k mls by 1k MLS.
So what I asking is the dealer still responsible of not addressing the possible life threatening event .
