I am going through the same issue with my dealer for last 3 months. I was told the same thing it's the battery. Then I was charged for they claim they had to reset the car computer. I have another appt next for the same problem for the 5th time. I'm at the point if the dealership can't fix it they need to pick up the bill and will take it somewhere else to be repaired.

I have a 2015 Chev Malibu the check engine came on code was P058D
I paid 250 for a new battery b/c they said the battery was bad the first time I took it to GMC, well the engine still came on and off they checked it again when light was off and said nothing but if light comes back on bring it in. Well light came back on I took it in and was told it was battery sensor that is why I needed a battery, they replaced the sensor today few hrs later, same day (today) my engine light is now back on. What Now?
