I have the same problem when I swapped my 2010 terrain with a 2012 Engine. P228D and P0089 with reduce engine power. I was told the Camshaft and phaser was different shaped them now it runs worse.

2013 Captiva 2.4 (Same engine and system as Regal)
I did an inframe rebuild (excessive oil consumption and timing chain guide broke).
12,000 out of warranty.
Now I have a random misfire when thoroughly warm, at idle, in gear (P0300)
I got a P228D one time then it went away... The fuel pressure fluctuates wildly, the TPS reading fluctuates, timing goes retard by 30 degrees...
I also had a broken phaser on the exhaust cam (P0014)
But it won't set a code...
